From 17th to 20th September 2009, the “Palacio de Feria y Congresos” of Málaga receives the sixth International Cultural Tourism Trade Fair and City Break. The programme includes a wide range of activities for all types of public. In fact, along with professional specialists from the touristic and cultural field who will explain how to handle with the latest market trends, there will be time for diversion attending performances and dance workshops.

This year’s novelty regards the introduction of an employment workshop and a tourism training. The first will give the opportunity to approximately a hundred candidates to be examined by members of the human resources departments of Spanish and international firms that belongs to the touristic field. As for the touristic training, the organisers have taken into account the period of economic recession that Spain, in particular, is going through at the moment. The analysis will centre on the new tendencies of the market.

Doubtless, one outstanding trend is City Break. The crisis has made it so popular since the tourist makes the most of a two to four days trip in order to visit all the attractions that the city offers, along with the cultural aspect of it. City Break is an innovative way to plan holidays and the tourist makes a larger number of travels during the year and City Break during the weekend prevails for its low cost – see cheap rental accommodation in Málaga city. Málaga is betting a huge amount of human resources on this aspect and is putting money in a large project of moder

nisation.

One of the most interesting events on Thursday 17th September is the conference about the Web and Social Networks related to the hotel market, where it will be given advises and perspective views about the evolution of the web 2.0 and advises with regards to the keywords to get the best of it.

On 18th September, there will be some round tables which will focus on the new tendencies of trade and keywords for the promotion and the diffusion of the urban destinations, but also themes like “Experiential Marketing and its strategies” and the “Culture as the dynamic element of the tourism in the city”.

Another aspect that will be faced is the importance of foreign languages in the touristic sphere. A group of international agents, specialised in this field, will establish relationship with the Spanish Schools of Málaga.

Also, the International Cultural Tourism Trade Fair and City Break gives the opportunity for the Spanish touristic and cultural offer to meet a group of eighty national and international buyers and operators, specialised in cultural and urban tourism. In this context, there will be also plenty of drawings and discounted travels.

The International Cultural Tourism Trade Fair and City Break will also host several musical and drama workshops of different kind: Oriental dance, Arabic-Andalusian, African are some examples. In addition, it will be possible to visit many stands and savour local and international products along with many different wines.

Finally, for games-lovers, there will also be a prize-winning competition, based on a quiz with different questions.

Sandra Dantis works as SEO for GlobalCityBreak and collaborates with Steffen Hansen to the process of development of the company. www.globalcitybreak.co.uk is specialized in City Breaks and offer quality holiday apartments in the city centre of a number of different cities in Europe. All of our holiday rentals have been inspected of our staff to make sure that standard and location is perfect.

The skill in art and expertise I different crafts, song and different folk dance, structural design and citizens all are evidences of the edifying multihued existence of India. The journey to Rajasthan provides exclusive sights like the architectural splendor of the castle and palaces. The females from Rajasthan in dazzling colored garments, laden with tons of jewelry and the massive turbans used by the men are illustrations of the artistic variety of India. The pictorial dunes, the mystery of the marvelously constructed palaces and the ambiance of the towns of Rajasthan are few characteristics of the ethnically amazing state.

The unadulterated white composition of devotion, Taj Mahal, if observed on a full moon night leaves such an impression that you can never forget in your lifetime and so is the masterwork in red stand stone the Red Fort. Downward south each city is connected with a field. The harbor town of Mahabalipuram is famous for its rock-cut monuments, construction in a single stone and bas-reliefs near its beaches. The journey to trichy discloses the attractiveness of the very old architecture in its shrines and tombstones. The sight of the river Kaveri is an additional attention-grabbing experience.

The most phenomenon enlightening ground of the south turns out to be the city of Madurai. The town is to be found on the edge of the river Vaigai and is famous for the Meenakshi temple. The shrine is devoted to Lord Shiva one of the ultimate God . Some other destinations of the attention comprise of the Thirumala Nayak palace, an illust

ration of the architectural inheritance. In addition to the religious travelers and devotees of architectural beauty, the journey towards south will be memorable for the admirers of nature. The wildlife sanctuary at Periyar is considered to be a tiger reserve too. It is a place of safety for the earthly, water animals and arboreal animals.

While going through the enriching variety of the land, one dare not miss the beautiful place Cochin. The harbor city has a wide range of sightseeing destinations. The St. Francis church is the oldest church constructed by the Europeans is a travel spot since it is the funeral site of the great voyager Vasco Da Gama. The speedily altering and phenomenon town of Bangalore and the majestic city Mysore are some places displaying the affluence of Indian culture.

So, when you require a break, keep in mind the variety of civilization India has to provide and then opt for the sightseeing wrap up offered by the incredible India

Albanians have always been proud people. Western society has not yet irreversibly affected them, since traditional and are very proud of their country. Albanians are very proud and proud of their glorious past such as the Illyrians and who are the ancestors of the Albanians, Alexander the Great, Blessed Mother Teresa (Gonxhe Bojaxhi), actors and brothers Jim and John Belushi, and Gjergj Kastroti Skanderbeg, defender of Christianity in the Middle Ages.

Albanians are friendly people who like to drink and make merry. Their philosophy of life is to work during the day and play during the evening. They also recognized as courageous people who can be very stubborn in some cases. Some of the holidays with large national are what the Flag and the Eid. The Flag Day is in honor of Independence that was posted on 28 November 1912.
Malta had it’s a best ever year for tourism last year, and is now considering new markets to broaden her appeal.

With a history dating back thousands of year tourism bosses have decided that a mix of history and culture is a market the island can tap in 2008, and will be marketing it to the UK and other European countries.

Speaking recently Malta’s tourism Minister noted that visitor numbers had risen each month since November 2006 – this was due though to the low cost airlines starting to fly to Malta, more than anything the government had done or the tourism board to promote Malta as a holiday destination.

Commenting on the need to diversify the range of holidays Malta is able to offer potential visitors, he said:

‘Today we cannot rely any more on the formula of sun, sea and sand. We are diversifying our product into new tourism segments, namely cultural tourism, English language learning, conferences and incentives, sports, and Gozo as a destination on its own. Together these segments make up about 40 per cent of all tourists coming to Malta. This means that we are on the right track of diversification.’

At the moment over a hundred thousand people visit Malta each year specifically for the island’s history and culture, but there is no specific target set to hit in the coming years.

Commenting on Malta’s pitch for the culture and heritage market, a local travel guide says ‘From what we can see there isn’t a figure the tourism bosses have in mind &#8211

; and that’s hardly surprising given their dismal record in the past when it come to attracting holidaymakers to Malta.’

The optimism from Malta is in sharp contrast to just a couple of years ago when some major holiday companies were considering dropping Malta as a vacation option altogether.

With a downward spiral in visitor numbers in successive years, the Maltese government finally relented to pressure from the Malta holidays industry and allowed low cost carriers to fly to the island for the first time in November 2006.

Competition was keen between the airlines to take up the lucrative UK to Malta route, and Dublin based Ryanair was chosen over rivals easyJet to take up the route, and the island has benefitted this year with a sharp increase in tourists, reversing six years of decline.

Since then the island’s tourist authorities have finally waken up to the fact that competition in the skies could bring more benefits to the country than protecting her national airline, and new routes have opened between Malta with Germany, Spain and Scandanavia.

New official figures show that this year’s all important summer season has been the best in six years for Malta, reversing the decline in fortunes for the Mediterranean island.

The good news for Malta is that despite the increase in the number of tourists arriving on the island via low cost flights, the occupancy levels of hotels has increased from basic to five star, showing that Malta can appeal to all, which is why perhaps culture and history are seen as sectors of the travel market that could bring even more visitors to the island, but time will tell if government led directions can really be beneficial for Malta’s holidays and hotels industry.

Another media, this time, Bulgarian, complained to the Macedonian tourist flow towards the Albanian coast this summer, resulting as a loss to their economy, and that of Greece.
Are you looking for Cultural tour packages? India is a land of multiple cultures, diverse traditions, religious importance, and rich heritage. Tourists from all over the world come to this place to enjoy the cultural richness of this country. The scenic beauty of India is also what attracts tourists to this land of majestic architecture and picturesque landscapes.

Introduction

Indian cultural tourism refers to exploring the diversity of Indian culture and traditions. Although it is impossible to discover the depth and richness of Indian culture in a time bound vacation, reputed tourist companies help you have a wonderful glimpse of what Indian culture is all about. They offer packages that include visits to Indian destinations of historical and cultural importance. Professional guides inform the tourists about the interesting stories underlying the traditions followed by Indians.

Monuments of India

Love is one of the most important traditions of India. Taj Mahal in Agra is not only a great example of excellent architecture in India but also symbolizes love of an ancient king for his wife. India Gate is another memorial monument built to respect the sacrifices given by Indian soldiers for their country. Humayun’s tomb, a great specimen of Mughal architecture, was the first garden tomb of India. Every monument in India has some cultural importance attached to it.
The various tribes of the world that have managed to remain unscathed by the ravages of civilization are precious repositories of eco-friendly life styles. These earth-friendly cultures are as fascinating as the intricacies of the Universe itself. Increasingly, those looking for respite from too much civilization are drawn to these pre-historic caches of human life. As a result there have been instances where tourists rush in where locals fear to tread, and invariably leave a trail of destruction in their wake. There’s more to be gained from cultural tourism if it is approached with a certain amount of sensitivity that may be termed responsible tourism.

In past centuries cultural or tribal tourism was often motivated by sheer curiosity and had a voyeuristic element which failed to appreciate the down to earth lifestyles of the tribal people. There was a decided feeling of superiority and relief at not being “uncivilized savages” themselves. Others felt an overwhelming need to civilize the “savages” or bring them into the folds of religion. So, for whatever reason, there was a pressing need to interfere in these indigenous lives to make them better.

Fortunately in the last few decades this trend has been overtaken by a healthier attitude marked by a genuine interest and responsible mindset, tinged with respect and appreciation for the subject. A quest for understanding has taken tourists to the remote corners of Africa, Americas, and Asia to discover information regarding alternate ways of life. Anthropologica

l studies and television documentaries have kindled an ever increasing interest in cultural tourism, fanned even more by tour companies and state governments that see new economic opportunities in their backyards. Celebrities contribute their mite by bringing new places to the attention of the world either by adopting kids or touring these remote lands. Cultural tourism has surely arrived, even grown by leaps and bounds. How does this affect the tribes themselves, if at all?

In the northwest region of Namibia, live the tribe of Himba. They inhabit the wilderness of Kaokoland and have done so since time immemorial. The Himba women adorn themselves with a great deal of jewellery and elaborate braids, taking a lot of pride in their femininity. They rub their bodies with a mixture of ochre, butter, and fragrant herbs to give their skin a translucent perfection. The Himba lived off the fruit of the land in isolation till the tourist descended on their idyllic hideaway. With the best intentions in the world, they introduced candies to the children and liquor to the men, besides a whole lot of processed food all around. Now Western modernisation has swept the Himba young into its fold, while only the old timers cling to their traditions.

The San, or the Bushmen, are another tribe that have lived in Namibia for at least 30,000 years. They can now be visited as one of the highlights of a safari in the Etosha National Park. The Owambo people, who live in thatched dwellings in a fenced kraal with a sacred fire in the centre, are another attraction.

In the heartland of Australia live the majority of aboriginal tribes such as the Arunta, Arrarnta, Yolgnu, and Aranda, who have persisted in the rhythm of their pre-historic cultures to this day. Marked by a considerable amount of ceremonies, rituals, songs, and dances, their culture has survived intact in certain areas where outsiders are forbidden to watch them. However, European colonisation has robbed other tribes of their identities and totally destroyed at least some of their tribal sanctity.

The central and north-eastern states of India have a wealth of ancient tribal cultures that continue survive as their people live more or less the same lives led by their ancestors. There are strongholds of ancient cultures thriving in the remote interiors that are untouched by modernity. The government has taken steps to preserve these as national treasures, and so you have areas like Jharkhand and Chattisgarh where about 70% of the population belong to various tribes. There are a number of organized tours that take tourists there. You can interact with the local tribes and take part in their ceremonies at select opportunities. These tribes are quite willing to share their lives with outsiders but think twice before adopting foreign cultures, which helps preserve their cultural integrity.

Tourism that takes you to the backyards of other people, whether it’s an Amish village, Native American Indian sites in North America, or the aboriginals of Australia, is best done with the same respect and responsibility we would show when we lean over the fence for a friendly chat or enter a neighbour’s kitchen for a cup of tea. We most certainly would not pluck her prize roses, walk all over her vegetable patch, or leave with her pet goldfish. Responsible travel is merely taking these good manners with us when we visit another community and remembering our common humanity while striving for understanding of a culture so different from our own.

Tribal people have customs, rituals, sacred places, and holy days that we may have no idea about. Even the local people who do not belong to the tribes might be quite vague about details. The governments may not publicize these issues for fear of driving away tourist dollars. Tour operators just do their jobs. So it is pretty much up to us as responsible travellers to ensure we take into account these factors and aim to tread lightly on our planet with respect and understanding.

At the broadest and most obvious level, Tanzania was formed as a nation in 1964 by the union of Tanganyika with Zanzibar. Even today, both these components retain partial autonomy and a highly diverse cultural identity. Secondly, Tanzania is located next to the Indian Ocean, close to the Saudi Arabian peninsula. This gives it a wide variety of influences.

is primarily seen as a collection of vast natural reserves – flora, fauna, landscapes, lakes… the variety of picturesque sights can overwhelm the senses. Busily immersed in this pure, natural, stark beauty of the landscape, tourists can easily forget that Tanzania has a thriving human population.

As it happens, Tanzania is a melting-pot of cultures. This gives it a wide variety of influences, resulting in the combination of Arabian dhows(boats), Swahili music and Indian cuisine seen in Zanzibar’s spice islands.

The number of ethnic tribes in Tanzania is over a hundred and twenty. Each tribe has its own variations of music, dance, cuisine, rituals, stories and hospitality. On a cultural safari, tourists can ride across the grasslands in their safari vehicles, dismounting every now and then to experience the slopes of the Meru or Kilimanjaro mountains.

The guides are proud to show off their plantations, with crops of coffee, fruit, vegetables or dairy farms. Cultural tourism is a highly intimate interpersonal experience, quite unlike the somewhat voyeuristic thrill one gets out of exploring the grasslands to spot wild animals. Sometimes, there are activities that tourists are allowed to participate in –

often, you may also take a memento of the journey back home. Freshly roasted, freshly brewed Tanzanian coffee is a treat like no other, while the local delicacies such as Makande, Malachari, Nyama choma, Chapati and pilau will leave their memories in your minds for a very, very long time.

There is no shortage of adventure on cultural safaris either, though it doesn’t come anywhere close to the adrenaline rush of being within meters of dangerous wild animals. Riding across the savannah on a camel’s rolling, swaying back can be either soothing or thrilling – just watch out for when the animal sits down! The tribal legends leave you on the edge of your seats while you are rowed down a river or across a lake, or simply while paddling in the mangroves. The calm dhows near the islands of Zanzibar offer a completely different cultural flavor, letting you sip your evening cocktails or the local teas and relax completely.

The history of Tanzania is highly diverse, and some clues to it still remain for people to see during their tours. Ancient healing methods are still extremely popular, for example, while ancient irrigation systems are still in place in certain areas of the country. Some traditions have been forgotten in life, but live on as history, legend or ritual. Together, it is certainly a life-enriching experience!

Design your own Tanzania Safari to suit your interests and budget. Specialists for Selous, Ruaha, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Kilimanjaro and cultural safaris. Climb Kilimanjaro . Specialists for Kilimanjaro and Meru Treks, Kilimanjaro by all routes: Marangu, Machame, Lemosho, Rongai, Shira, Umbwe.
